New enclosure for the jackals 21 July 2026

We’ve been working very hard lately on the new, large enclosure for our jackals at the rescue center. They lived in a very small enclosure for years and, as a result, exhibited stereotypical behavior.

Thanks to donations and sponsors, we were able to build a beautiful enclosure at the Lion Head.

They now have a large, spacious enclosure covering over 1 hectare. They each claimed their own territory in the new enclosure… all five of them are adapting very well. One of them made a den out of an old porcupine burrow…
