Building new enclosures at The Rescue Centre 30 May 2025

Currently, many of the animals at The Lions Foundation Rescue Centre are still living in the smaller enclosures we inherited. However, we are working tirelessly to improve their living conditions. Plans are in place to expand their enclosures, creating larger, more natural spaces. These new enclosures will form the shape of a lion’s head, visible from the air via Google Maps, covering an area of approximately 20 hectares. The upgraded space will accommodate leopards, jackals, wild dogs, hyenas, servals, and caracals, offering them a better quality of life.
Through this project, we hope to raise awareness about the plight of animals in need and inspire greater support for organisations like ours.
Key upcoming developments at the Rescue & Conservation Centre include:
• Construction of new enclosures that meet our high standards for space and welfare
• Expansion of the existing lake to attract and support native birdlife
• Development of species conservation programmes
• Careful selection of target species based on urgency, ecological impact, and feasibility
• Establishment of partnerships for potential reintroduction or rewilding projects
• Design and implementation of species-specific habitats
• Building and training a dedicated animal care team
We are proud to offer these animals a second chance and are deeply committed to their long-term welfare and protection. Having rescued them from such a grim future, we are dedicated to ensuring they live the fulfilling and dignified lives they truly deserve.
